Stockport County can jump back into the League One play-off positions with a home win over Peterborough United this weekend. The Hatters, ninth with ten points from seven games, host a Posh side sitting 23rd and now led by interim boss Ryan Harley after Luke Williams's dismissal.
Harley acknowledged the challenge ahead for his team. "Stockport are a very good side, both in and out of possession, and it will be a tough game for us on Saturday," he said. "The players have been excellent since last weekend in terms of their application in training and we will go there and try and play our game."
Jimmy McNulty's side are the division's top scorers with 16 goals, four of them from Kyle Wootton, though top scorer Jack Diamond leads the way with four in seven appearances. They were held to a goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday last time out despite creating good chances.
Peterborough arrive off a 3-1 Jersey Mike's Trophy win over Colchester but have taken just five league points. Edgeley Park is a cashless stadium, with the Oktoberfest event opening its doors from midday. The full match schedule is available on our fixtures list. The referee for the 3pm kick-off on Saturday is Ross Martin.
