Stockport County's upcoming League One trip to Peterborough United is in doubt due to international call-ups. The match scheduled for September 26 could be postponed if the hosts have three players selected for national team duty.

Peterborough United said: "Clubs need three international call-ups to postpone fixtures." The club is currently expecting defender David Okagbue to be called up by Ireland, while midfielder Harry Ashfield is on standby for Wales Under 21s. On-loan Aston Villa centre-back Josh Feeney has already been named in the Scotland Under 21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

If a third call-up is confirmed, the game will be rescheduled. This would create a gap in the calendar for Stockport, who currently sit eighth in League One with nine points from six games. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins and three losses in their last five outings.

Stockport's own game at Oxford United on October 3 has already been postponed because three of their players are on international duty. Peterborough's home fixture against Notts County on the same date has also been called off.

Should the Peterborough match go ahead, the hosts face a defensive shortage. Teenager Lucca Mendonca, Evan Weir and Harley Mills are their only available senior defenders, with James Dornelly missing the recent Carabao Cup win over Barnsley due to a calf issue. Under-21 full-back Noah Freeman would likely be promoted to the squad.

For Stockport, the potential postponement comes during a busy period. Dave Challinor's side will hope key players like top scorer Jack Diamond, who has four goals this season, remain available. The manager will also be monitoring the fitness of his squad, with updates available on our injuries page.
