Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly considering a move for Stockport County's Odin Bailey as the midfielder prepares to become a free agent at the end of the month. Bailey, a former England youth international, has amassed a total of 140 appearances across three seasons for the Hatters. The attack-minded midfielder is due to leave Edgeley Park having not been retained by the club. According to The Star, Bailey is being considered as a potential addition to Henrik Pedersen's Wednesday squad. The Owls are preparing for life back in League One and will need to box clever given they have financial constraints to work under. Bailey boasts a wealth of League One experience but at just 26, there is plenty of room for the Birmingham City academy product to grow. Talk of a deal being lined up is thought to be premature, but it is not difficult to see why Bailey would be viewed as a potential addition by Wednesday. The club's new sporting director, Simon Wilson, is arriving at Hillsborough after a successful spell working at Stockport. He is familiar with Bailey, who also knows Owls coach Pete Shuttleworth from his Birmingham days. Not only would Bailey offer a creative spark in the final third, he is a durable figure. Last season, the 26-year-old racked up a total of 57 appearances across all competitions, registering six goals and six assists. Sheffield Wednesday have not yet ventured into the transfer market but have made room in their squad for new blood. Senior figures Dominic Iorfa, Nathaniel Chalobah, and Marvelous Nakamba have all been cut from a squad that was thin as it was. The Owls have also cast aside a raft of young players, including February recruit Zain Silcott-Duberry.
