Meulensteen has taken on the role at Stockport County, where he will work closely with the first-team staff and collaborate with his son Joppe, who is a coach at the club. His remit will also involve developing the football programme across both the academy and first team.

Meulensteen has spent 12 years working at Old Trafford across two different spells, helping the Red Devils win multiple Premier League titles and claim the Champions League in 2008. He left the club after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
