Stockport County winger Jack Diamond is on the verge of leaving the club with Championship sides Portsmouth and Lincoln City plotting a move for the 26-year-old. Diamond has emerged as one of League One's most effective attacking players in recent years, notching 15 goal involvements in 2025-26. The former Sunderland man has been a key figure for Stockport County since joining back in 2024, but a move away is now on the cards this summer with clubs circling. Both Portsmouth and Lincoln are big admirers of Diamond, and the latter had him on loan in the 2022-23 campaign. Diamond has made a name for himself in the lower leagues, having impressed in the National League, as well as both League Two and League One. He starred as part of Harrogate Town's first-ever promotion to the EFL back in 2021-22, and has since been a regular feature in the third tier across loan spells with Lincoln and Carlisle. His move to Stockport County has seen him reignite his career, and he now looks set to take a step up after the club were beaten in the play-off final. The wideman excelled at League One level this term, and the chance to sign him for a reduced fee this summer has plenty of clubs tracking him. Stockport County wanted a fee in excess of £1million for him back in January, but sources have now indicated that clubs have been alerted to the fact that his price tag has now dropped. Diamond's potential move to the Championship could be a significant boost for either Portsmouth or Lincoln City, who are expected to be battling in the lower reaches of the Championship next term.
