Stockport County defenders Perry Ng and Jack Moylan have been named in the Professional Footballers' Association League One Team of the Season for the 2025-26 campaign. The full team was announced at the PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday, with County midfield anchor Oliver Norwood and striker Kyle Wootton also earning places in the prestigious eleven.
This recognition arrives as Stockport County sit 9th in the early League One table, having taken three points from their opening two matches. They are three points behind leaders Bradford City and have scored four goals while conceding three. Their next challenge is a home fixture against 16th-placed Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, August 29th.
Perry Ng and Jack Moylan were the two Stockport County defenders selected by their fellow professionals for their performances last season. The pair formed a formidable part of a backline that was central to the club's successful campaign. Oliver Norwood's inclusion in midfield and Kyle Wootton's up front means Stockport County contributed four players to the best eleven, a significant representation that highlights the team's collective strength. The awards were announced at the PFA ceremony.
The individual accolades for last season's efforts provide a boost as the team builds its current campaign. Manager Dave Challinor will hope the proven quality of these players translates into consistent results. The early league standings show a team finding its feet, and the experience of award-winners like Norwood and Ng will be vital. Their next match, offers a chance to build momentum at Edgeley Park.
While the awards reflect past excellence, the focus is now on maintaining those standards. The selected quartet are all expected to be key figures again this year. Perry Ng and Jack Moylan will aim to shore up a defence that has let in three goals in two games. Oliver Norwood's control in the engine room and Kyle Wootton's threat in attack remain essential components of the team's setup. Fans can track their ongoing contributions via our stats page.
The PFA Team of the Year honours cement the status of several Stockport County players as among the division's elite. As the club prepares for its next home game, the challenge is to convert that individual recognition into team success, starting with three points against Wycombe to climb the table.
