Early Dominance
Blackpool secured a 3-1 victory over Stockport County with Bailey Peacock-Farrell making a man-of-the-match performance. The match, played at Bloomfield Road, saw Blackpool take an early lead with Tom Bloxham’s goal and extend it with Josh Bowler’s opener before Stockport’s Mika Mandron scored a late consolation.
Peacock-Farrell’s first test came after just two minutes, when he stood firm to stop Harry Wood from a tight angle. He later delivered a long ball that Tom Bloxham controlled calmly, slotting past Ollie Whatmuff into the bottom corner. A second chance for Olly Casey was missed when the defender couldn’t keep a close-range header down from a corner.
Stockport’s Missed Chances
Stockport had several opportunities to equalise. Lewis Bate fired a shot straight at Peacock-Farrell, while Jack Diamond and Ryan Glover headed attempts over the bar. A CJ Hamilton ball into the box was left unchallenged, allowing Josh Bowler to scramble the ball over the line for the second goal.
Peacock-Farrell’s Heroic Saves
Peacock-Farrell made a superb save to deny Diamond at point-blank range and later denied both Ollie Norwood and substitute Benony Breki Andresson with sharp reactions. Despite his recent man-of-the-match display against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, the keeper was not rewarded with a clean sheet as Mika Mandron claimed a late goal.
